Fiberglass (FRP) is the most popular mandap material in the US, and for good reason. It is light, strong, weatherproof and easy to repaint, so one mandap can serve many weddings. Our fiberglass mandaps come in gold, ivory and white finishes, are built in sections that fit through hotel service doors, and assemble with a crew of two in a few hours. Typical sizes run from 10 to 16 feet square, with custom dimensions available. An NFPA 701 flame-retardant fabric option is available for venues that require it.

Why choose fiberglass
Fiberglass weighs a fraction of solid wood, which cuts both freight cost and setup time. It does not warp in humid venues or crack in dry ones, and surface chips are easy to touch up. For decorators, that translates into fewer repairs and faster turnarounds between events.
Fiberglass vs. wood vs. crystal
Wood offers the richest carving and the longest lifespan but is heavy and costs more to ship. Crystal gives the brightest ballroom look but is more delicate. Fiberglass sits in the middle: it takes detailed molded ornament, finishes in gold or white, and survives repeated transport.

Is fiberglass strong enough for a ceremony?
Yes. A mandap is a decorative canopy, not a load-bearing structure. Fiberglass frames are rigid enough to hold fabric, flowers and lighting, and are stable when assembled on a level floor. For outdoor use we recommend an anchoring kit.
Can I change the color?
Finishes include gold and ivory, antique gold and white and silver. Custom colors are available through the custom mandap service.
